Social media has made it easy for bullies to troll other successfully on platform like twitter, and the issue is getting worse by the minute. We have witnessed many celebs fall victim to the high beauty standards that have been set by society and being ridiculed on social media about their weight and physical appearance.
Celebs including the likes of Anele Mdoda, Boity, Makhadzi, Kuli Roberts and more have been body shamed on twitter for either being fat or having imperfections like cellulite or stretch marks. DJ and TV personality Lamiez Holworthy who is no stranger to being bullied for her body on social media was recently trolled by critics on the platform after posting a photo of herself wearing a pair of shorts.
The Metro FM DJ was mocked for her “thick” thighs once again after a troll tweeted that someone needs to tell Lamiez to stop wearing her shorts. Lamiez didn’t take the bullying laying down as she also fired her own shots at trolls who project their insecurities upon her.
“Wow ya mas*pa! Not to wear shorts because you said so?! Wang ny*la wena. Always these fake accounts trying to project their own insecurities on others. Well, Mo Nna ke stop station ge! I’m an African woman and will be damned by your f**ked up standards!” she wrote.
Lamiez is focusing on the positive influence that she has made in society since rising to fame which is unmatched. The club DJ has influenced a lot of her fans with her style choices and natural hairstyle which she has deemed very heartwarming and is choosing to focus more on.
“You know what’s crazy?The influence that I have- big thighs and all is unmatched. From the way that I dress to my hairstyle? Iconic! The love that I receive daily is super overwhelming and will never not warm my heart. And now? Now I go back to focusing that” she wrote.
Holworthy has also been receiving major support from not only social media users but also other celebs such as Ntsiki Mazwai and more who have encouraged the DJ to continue being her amazing self. The TV and radio personality was recently honoured at the South African Heroines Awards for her philanthropic work with her orphanage and that the energy that we are choosing to recognize.
