The second annual Johnnie Walker Blue Label Polo event took place in style on Sunday, 8 June, at the exclusive Inanda Club in Sandton, Johannesburg. The glamorous evening blended the elegance of polo with the sophistication of Johnnie Walker Blue Label whisky, offering a unique experience filled with fashion, flavour, and culture.
As the sun dipped behind the Sandton skyline, guests were treated to a multisensory event that brought together taste, music, style, and sport. The event wasn’t just about the game—it was about celebrating legacy and luxury in true South African fashion.
Miss South Africa 2023, Natasha Joubert, was among the famous faces at the event and shared her excitement with Daily Sun. Dressed in a powerful outfit by Bam Collective, she said, “I’m wearing Bam Collective, and we wanted to tap into the iconic man, Johnnie Walker. He has this cool waistcoat on, so we wanted to do the female version and make it a power suit.”
Natasha also spoke about her love for sport, particularly polo. “This has to do with animals. I’ve been to one polo game before, and I feel we respect the craft that it is. A lot of exercise goes into competing in it, so we support and are here to celebrate it. And you know how we South Africans love to get together and mingle,” she said.
Former The Mommy Club star Nunurai kept it short and sweet, saying, “I’m a polo girl.”
Popular content creator Siya Bunny was just as thrilled to be part of the day. “I’m excited to be at the polo, excited for the fashion and, I guess, the horses,” she shared.
Radio and TV star Khaya Dladla said polo events top his list. “I think I enjoy the polos more than any other horse event. I’m more excited for the fashion, the vibes, and the drinks flowing.”
Mpimy Mashimbye, senior brand manager of Reserve Scotch for South, West & Central Africa, described the event as a premium experience. “This is more than an event — it’s a cultural moment where luxury, storytelling, and heritage come together in spectacular fashion.”
Other celebrities spotted at the event included Big Brother Titans winner Khosi Twala and beloved actress Jessica Nkosi, adding even more star power to an already dazzling occasion.
