South African singer Nomcebo Zikode brought African energy and pride to the Africa Forward Summit 2026 Business Forum in Nairobi, Kenya, after delivering a lively performance that had guests on their feet — including French President Emmanuel Macron.
The Grammy-winning star, best known for her global hit song Jerusalema, turned the prestigious event at the University of Nairobi into a joyful cultural celebration filled with music, dance and unity.
Nomcebo performed at the “Inspire & Connect” Business Forum on May 11 during the Africa Forward Summit 2026. The major two-day summit, hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and Emmanuel Macron, focused on strengthening economic ties between Africa and France.
Business leaders, innovators, investors and CEOs from across the continent attended the summit to discuss investment opportunities, technology, sustainable development and future partnerships between Africa and France. However, it was Nomcebo’s vibrant performance that became one of the standout moments of the gathering.
Videos and photos shared online showed the singer dancing and celebrating alongside Macron in a lighthearted moment that quickly grabbed attention on social media.
Nomcebo later took to Instagram to reflect on the memorable experience and shared her appreciation for the warm reception she received in Nairobi.
“I am deeply honoured to have received the warmest welcome from President Emmanuel Macron. What a beautiful moment of unity, peace, and the power of music! May we continue building bridges between nations through culture and collaboration,” she wrote.
The singer also posted more clips from the event, showing herself dancing, smiling and enjoying the celebration with guests at the summit.
