Bujy Bikwa Breaks His Silence Following Anti GBV Walk Backlash. Former Metro FM host Bujy Bikwa has been making the headlines more recently however, it seems to be for all the wrong reasons. After assaulting rapper and businesswoman Boity, the people of social media have taken a step back from supporting him.

Following his seven day stay behind bars, Bujy came out of jail a new and improved person who wants to shed more light on issues involving Gender Based Violence. In an interview with TshisaLive, Bikwa shared his aim to denounce misconstrued views surrounding GBV after he was accused of committing the act.

The TV personality recently faced a lot of backlash after he took to twitter to announce his support for the Khuzekani Madoda organisation’s anti-GBV 5km walk. Following the event, the Cula sibone host told TshisaLIVE that the people of Mzansi haven’t quite grasped the concept of Gender Based Violence.

Bujy added that people have the wrong idea about the altercation that took place between him and Boity. Bikwa claims that he retaliated after the rapper attacked him first and expected to endure it because he is a male.

“I realised with me that South Africans do not have the knowledge of what GBV is. The altercation that happened between me and the other lady is that everybody thinks the fight happened because I attacked her because she was female, not knowing that she attacked me first and called me all derogatory names and consistently reminded me that I am a male, she must hit and I must take the beating,” he claimed.

Bujy shared how shocked he was to hear of the allegations following his arrest. Bikwa claims to full of regret over how he handled the situation and was deeply hurt by the rapper’s statement claiming she was a victim of GBV.

Bikwa told the publication that joining the walk was his way of taking full ownership of what happened and his way of making amends. The walk is also his way to give awareness of the abuse that men also experience.

Speaking of his ongoing legal case with the Boity, the publication reports that Bujy said he wanted to resolve things as “two adults” instead of all the court drama, but Boity seems set on seeing the case through.

According to City Press, Boity is suing Bujy for R1,2 million as part of a settlement agreement relating to an assault charge she laid against him. The R1million is to cover the cost of work lost due to her injury and the R200 000 is for her medical bills.

Surely we are being punked!!
