Thuso Mbedu Lands Major Role in New HBO Crime Series ‘Task’

South African actress Thuso Mbedu is once again shining on the international stage, this time starring in the upcoming HBO crime drama miniseries Task. The highly anticipated series was created and written by Brad Ingelsby, best known for the award-winning Mare of Easttown. Task will be available on HBO and the streaming platform Max later this year.

The series features a star-studded cast including Mark Ruffalo, Tom Pelphrey, Emilia Jones, Raúl Castillo, Jamie McShane, Sam Keeley, Fabien Frankel, and Alison Oliver. Thuso joins the talented lineup as Aleah, a key character in the gripping story.

Task follows an intense and thrilling plot set in a quiet suburb of Philadelphia. The story centers on an FBI agent named Tom who leads a special task force to stop a string of drug-house robberies. What makes the case more shocking is that the crimes are being carried out by a man who appears to be an ordinary, family-oriented citizen.
