Yanga Sobetwa Launches New Beauty Business, Betwa Beauty

Yanga Sobetwa, the talented 23-year-old winner of IDOLS SA season 14, has launched her own business, a makeup company called Betwa Beauty. This new venture is an exciting step for the young star as she moves beyond music and dives into the world of beauty.

In an interview with Daily Sun, Yanga shared her passion for the new business. “Betwa Beauty is more than just a make-up service. It’s a labour of love driven by my passion for serving others. As a devoted Christian, I believe that serving God’s people is a fundamental aspect of my faith. With Betwa Beauty, I aim to provide exceptional service that not only enhances physical beauty but also uplifts and empowers individuals,” she said.

Yanga sees this as a way to serve people in a different way. “I’m excited to share my passion for beauty with the world! As a creative entrepreneur, I’ve discovered that the beauty industry is not only a platform for self-expression but also an opportunity to serve others. God has blessed me with many talents, and I’m committed to stewarding them well,” she added. “With Betwa Beauty, I’m excited to combine my love for beauty, creativity, and service to make a meaningful impact in the lives of others.”

Currently based in Pretoria North, Gauteng, Yanga has big dreams for Betwa Beauty. “In the next five years, Betwa Beauty aims to launch its own international make-up line, establish make-up studios in every province, employ hundreds of women, and empower young, underprivileged women through free make-up workshops. We’re committed to partnering with big brands to make this vision a reality,” she said.

Her journey has already gained global recognition. Recently, American singer and actress Jennifer Hudson gave Yanga a co-sign after watching a video of her performance on IDOLS SA. “Jennifer said she was a fan of Yanga,” and the moment left Yanga deeply touched. Reflecting on it, she said, “It’s humbling and heartwarming. Idols was such a transformative experience for me, and the fact that people are still touched by those performances all these years later reminds me why I do what I do. Music truly has no expiration date.”
