Leanne Manas Responds to Fake Resignation Reports

SABC presenter Leanne Manas has addressed rumours claiming that she has resigned from the public broadcaster, putting an end to speculation about her future on Morning Live.

The presenter took to social media on Monday to clarify that she has not left the SABC and will continue to be part of the popular breakfast show. The rumours, which circulated on platforms such as TikTok and Facebook, sparked confusion among viewers, with some reports falsely suggesting that she had walked away from her position.

However, Manas explained that her absence from television was simply because she had taken a week-long holiday in Spain.

Taking to her social media account, the presenter directly addressed the claims, making it clear that she had no plans to leave the broadcaster.

“Hi all! Not going to waste too much time on the fake news doing the rounds about me, but just to clear things up…

I have absolutely NOT resigned from the SABC! I’m very much still part of the public broadcaster and will be back on your screens tomorrow after a beautiful week off!

And while I’m at it, every TikTok account claiming to be me is FAKE. I have never posted a single thing on that platform.

So, there you have it! See you bright and early tomorrow morning! And on a much lovelier note… watch this space for some stunning pics I took on my little getaway!”

Manas also used the opportunity to warn the public about fake TikTok accounts impersonating her. She stressed that she has never posted anything on the platform, cautioning followers against believing accounts falsely claiming to represent her.

The SABC also responded to the speculation, using its verified Facebook page to dismiss the reports about the presenter’s alleged departure.

“SABC News wishes to clarify that reports circulating on social media regarding Morning Live Anchor Leanne Manas’ alleged resignation from the organisation are false. We encourage the public to refrain from sharing unverified information and to rely on credible sources and verified accounts for accurate updates.”

With both Manas and SABC News addressing the claims, the presenter has confirmed that she remains part of the public broadcaster. Viewers can therefore expect to see her back on their screens after her holiday in Spain, as she returns to her duties on Morning Live.
