Watch! Robert Marawa Reveals How He And Pearl Thusi Met Before Dating. It’s hard to believe that Robert Marawa and Pearl Thusi were once upon a time one of Mzansi’s high profile celeb couples. The two seemed to be very much infatuated by one another at the time until the pair shook the masses when they announced their break up a year later in 2017. Robert recently went down memory lane and shared how the live story began.

The former sports anchor was the latest guest on MacG’s popular Podcast And chill With MacG YouTube show, and viewers felt like they got to know the very private celeb a little more. MacG knows how to ask all the right questions in an interview and the former radio presenter didn’t hesitate to get very personal.

MacG questioned Robert about his relationship with former flame Pearl Thusi and how they met. The Soccer Zone presenter revealed the he met Pearl at a Polo event when she was leaving the event.

According to Marawa he had arrived late at the event and was forced to park his vehicle far from the marquee. After the event while walking to his car, Pearl drove past and stopped beside him. Apparently Thusi offered to give Robert a lift to his car however, he declined the kind gesture.

“We had parked far and we were just walking and she was driving then stopped and asked what’s happening so it was like walk and talk kind of thing. She was offering a lift and I was like no don’t worry about the lift” he said.

This is when the pair went into a deep conversation while he was walking and she was driving next to each other. From that day onwards two went on to make things official when Robert proposed Pearl over dinner.

It’s unclear when things took a turn for the worst but their celebrity friends shared that two had a really bad fight before Pearl left to go shoot overseas. A few months later, the pair confirmed on social media after a lot of speculations that they had gone their separate ways.

“Robert and that i had an excellent relationship things didn’t work for reasons we’d rather not mention . That wasn’t our intentions but that’s what happened. you would like to understand when to go away situations regardless of what proportion you would like to remain. When something isn’t good for you don’t die in it, learn from it and advance ” Pearl said.

Robert went on to confirm that the relationship didn’t work out however, they have maintained a level of respect and they still communicate with each other till this day.

“The relationship came to an end but there’s always been mutual respect. I mean we communicated just the other day” he said.
