Unathi Details Her Traumatic Experience With A Friend Who Displayed “Rapey” Behavior. Women have been breaking their silence about men who have stepped way out of line with emotionally abusive acts and Singer Unathi Nkayi is sharing her own experience with a male acquaintance that she defines as “rapey”.
Unathi took to Instagram to detail the recent traumatic experience in which she felt violated by the man who seems to not be able to take the word no for an answer.
“Yesterday I was violated during my house by a man who has asked me out and I have told him that I don’t want to go out with him. A man who I’ve told that I don’t like video calls from men if I’m not dating them but insists on doing it anyway” she said.
The radio host continued saying the incident happened after she got a new phone but hadn’t synced her contacts yet so she was unaware of the number that was calling but because she’s a family woman, she was afraid to miss the call incase it was important.
“I have not synchronized my contacts yet so yesterday I got a video call and I panicked because I did not know what the number was, it could have been a family member so I answered it” she continued.
To her surprise it was the same man who has been asking her out expect this time he took it too far as he video called her naked in the bathtub. When she asked him why he was calling her, he proceeded to show her his manhood, leaving her shook for the rest of the day.
However Nkayi says that although it affected her negatively, she brushed off the situation and women need to stop doing that.
“I dropped the phone and my colleague asked me what was going on. The man then asked me why I dropped the phone and I tried to downplay it and while my colleague was trying to console me I laughed it off. But it affected me the entire day” she said.
The Kaya FM host concluded saying that an in-depth conversation should be had about men that commit such acts which should be viewed as“rapey”.
