Mzansi is now serving movie lovers with another exciting homegrown story in the form of a romantic blockbuster film.
Broadcast entertainment journalist Phil Mphela brought us the tea on the upcoming Beautie Masvaure directed film A Royal Surprise. The top class director has also worked on well-known production including the Award-winning film Queen Of Katwe, Queen Sono, Reyka, and many more. TA Royal Surprise follows Riley Stevenson who accepts an invitation to visit Mandla, her boyfriend’s, family in South Africa.
When she arrives, she is shocked to learn that Mandla is not only extremely wealthy but also is the prince of Chacula, a village near Johannesburg! The news puts Riley’s trust in Mandla in jeopardy and now it is up to him to win her love back. Riley must decide if she will give Mandla a second chance while also winning the approval of his royal family.
The local film stars familiar TV faves Makgotso M and restaurant owner Thapelo Mokoena. Thapelo will be playing the role of Mandla. The star-studded film also includes Sello Maake Ka-Ncube, Nomsa Nene, Sivenathi Mabuya, Tyson Ngubeni, and many more. American actress Jennifer Nicole Freeman who is known for her role as Claire on throwback TV series My Wife And Kids is also set to star in the movie as Riley Stevenson.
Makgotso recently bagged a role on the upcoming American blockbuster The Woman King alongside prestigious actors like Viola Davis and John Boyega. The former Muvhango actress has been cast in the film as one of King Ghezo’s (John Boyega) wives. BFF Thuso Mbedu who also stars in the movie shared how proud she was of her friend who worked hard to bag the role.
Former Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi also let the cat out of the bag about her first-ever acting role on The Woman King. Zozi gushed over how excited she is over the huge opportunity on Instagram and we are also excited to see our local talents do the things in the upcoming film.
