Muvhango Actor Arthur Mbambo Passes On. It is with great sadness that we share the news of yet another local actor that has died, adding to the never ending list of entertainers that have suddenly died this year alone.

Arthur, best known for his role as Thandaza’s father Mnyamane Buthelezi on the SABC2 soapie Muvhango, died at a Johannesburg hospital after a two week stay when his health status took a turn for the worse from a long-term illness.

The actors daughter Mbali Mbambo, has expressed the devastation from her father’s death, telling TshisaLIVE that when she got the call, she was deeply shattered by the news.

“I would speak to him daily on WhatsApp and he would give me such hope that he was doing well and was going to pull through. I don’t know what changed because suddenly I got a call that he was no more. It felt like my heart had broken” Mbali said.

The veteran actor began his career in the 1980s and went on to feature in several TV shows and films, including the SABC1 drama series Tshisa and Soul Buddyz and many more.

Muvhango released an official statement on social media to pay tribute to the star who will be laid to rest in Johannesburg on Friday.
