The masses are super excited and the wait is over as the premier of the Barry Jenkins directed limited series Underground Railroad, starring the amazing Emmy nominated actress is finally here.
Thuso has been cast as a lead character in the American based Tv show, which is a first for any African actress. The award winning actress is playing the role of a runaway slave named Cora, and we can’t wait to see her in action. Although there are many defining factors of the hardships that African American’s went through in the slavery days, Thuso found distinctive similarities among the way African’s and African American’s lived back in the day making the story all the more near and dear to her heart.
In celebration of this auspicious occasion, social media has been buzzing with shoutouts for the actress who has single handily united the country in dance. To commemorate Thuso Mbedu day, Mzansi has sworn to wear sneakers and take part in a viral dance that has now taken over the internet.
Local fans and celebs have been posting photos of the actress and penning motivational messages to show her some love. Thuso has since moved to Los Angeles to shoot her latest acting role alongside Academy award winning actress Viola Davis for an upcoming Hollywood film titled The Woman King. Taking to Instagram, the actress thanked her team and showed off her fancy new wheel that she will be cruising sing in during her stay in the U.S.
