Pearl Thusi To Welcome A New Addition To Her Family. Actress and businesswoman Pearl Thusi is a mother to her biological daughter Thando Mokoena and six year old daughter Okuhle whom is adopted. The actress is clearly a very compassionate person with a big heart and an interest in child development. The former Isidingo actress is reportedly extending her family with a new daughter whom she is in the process of adopting at the Johannesburg High Court.
According to Sunday World, Pearl is adopting a five year old baby girl from her relative who resides in KZN. The little girl comes from a drug related and underprivileged household in the township. The mother is said to lives in the violent side of KwaZulu-Natal that is riddled with crime and the living conditions are reportedly not suitable for a child to live in, hence why she is applying for sole custody. It is also reported that her mother is suffering from depression and is not fit to take care of a child.
Thusi is reportedly applying for sole custody of the child However, she will allow for her to maintain a relationship with her mother as they communicate telephonically and already have meetings in a child-friendly surrounding during school holidays. Pearl is said to already be living with the child.
Thusi also stated that the child’s father, did not want to be identified because he did not contribute financially towards her upbringing because the child’s mother and father only had a brief relationship.
“The second applicant and I seek an order in, inter alia the following terms: ordering that I am awarded the sole parental responsibilities and rights of care and guardianship, as defined in terms of Children’s Act No 38 of 2005. Consequent upon the granting of the prayer above, ordering that the second applicant’s parental responsibilities and rights of care and guardianship in respect of , as defined in terms of the act, are terminated,” she said.
Pearl is very private when it comes to her family especially when it comes to her children. The actress also kept the adoption of Okuhle very private during her stay in Ghana, claiming that it was a process that felt natural to her and her family.
