South African singer Zintle Kwaaiman appeared on Wednesday night’s episode of Amalanga Awafani on SABC 1, giving viewers an opportunity to see the singer on the popular programme.
Kwaaiman had earlier shared her excitement about appearing on the show and encouraged her fans to tune in for the episode, which aired on 16 September at 18:30.
Taking to social media, the singer announced her appearance and shared a message with her followers ahead of the episode.
“Hey guys, it is your girl Zintle Kwaaiman do catch me live on Amalanga Awafani on the 16th of September on SABC 1 at 18:30.”
Her appearance came at an important time in her career, as Kwaaiman had recently made a major announcement about her music plans for the remainder of the year.
The singer revealed that she had decided to cancel her birthday tour and postpone the release of her upcoming EP, which had been scheduled for October.
Kwaaiman explained that the decision followed a period of deep thought and reflection as she marked what was meant to be a significant milestone in her music career.
“ After a lot of thought, prayer and reflection, I have decided to cancel my birthday tour and postpone the release of my EP, which was scheduled for October.
This year was meant to mark a very special milestone, 10 years of my music journey. But right now, I need to step away and breathe.
I will still honour and continue with the gigs I already have booked for the rest of this year. Beyond that, I honestly don’t know when, or if, I will return to music.
To everyone who has supported me throughout these 10 years, thank you for walking this journey with me. If music is truly a gift meant for me, it shall come back and be delivered to me when the time is right. For now I choose myself..”
Kwaaiman’s announcement came as she reflected on a decade in the music industry and the journey she had shared with her supporters.
While she confirmed that she would continue honouring the gigs she had already booked for the rest of the year, she left the timing of her future return to music uncertain.
Her Amalanga Awafani appearance therefore came as fans continued to follow her journey, both on screen and in her music career.
