RHODurban’s Kgomotso Ndungane Details How The Reality Show Affected Her Business. Now that the Real Housewives Of Durban has come to an end, all the ladies have gone back to their lives but obviously there has been some change since the premier of the first season. One of the show’s antagonist’s Kgomtoso Ndungane has opened up about how life has been since the show and it looks like she is not a fan of being a reality star.
Life has not changed for Kgomotso since she leaving Real House Wives of Durban, however her business has been affected by it. Ndungane is the CEO and founder of Oak Celebrations and Lelapa follower and events companies. Kgomotso who had the joined the show with the objective of promoting her business shared that she had no idea how the show would negatively affect her.
Kgomotso revealed that the cyber bullying got so intense on her social media account that she had to lock her account which resulted in trolls targeting her through her business pages, forcing her to take alternate measures in protecting her reputation.
“The very same reason that I went on to the show to promote my business it actually did the opposite … when people couldn’t get to me — because I locked all my social media accounts when the hate was so huge … they went to my business pages and … I then had to go and put restriction measures.” she wrote.
Kgomotso then took a step back from the lime light and started being discreet about her moves. Ndungane credited her family for helping her get through the hard times and the social media trolling. Now that the series is re-airing, she has had to relive the trauma but she is chosing to stay positive.
“I couldn’t showcase any of my work, I need to do it in total silence. so I was trying to do as little as possible with the high anxiety that the show leaves you with. When you receive a lot of hate, there’s no way it will not affect you. With the help of my family, Odwa, my dad, my friends, I was able to overcome, and now that it’s playing on Mzansi magic I’m focused on being positive, doing me and I stopped reading that junk. I got to a point where now I am doing what pleases me” she said.
Looking back on what she has gained in the show, Kgomotso has shared her gratitude for all the new friends and business partner’s that she has made singling out co-star Anne-Toni Mthembu.
Ndungane recently opened up about how the looting affected her as a business owner sharing that she has lost over R1 million in investments.
“We have been trying to pick up the pieces of COVID-19 pandemic. I lost over a million revenue and investments last year after I had invested in a retail shop which I had to close down due to safety (my shop looted/ broken into on many days whilst we were in L5 lockdown). I subsequently needed to close down the shop loosing so much of my investment” she wrote.
