South Africa’s Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg is making the country proud on the international stage. Representing South Africa at the Miss World 2025 pageant, she recently won the prestigious World Designer Award for the Africa region at the 72nd Miss World Top Model competition.
The event was hosted by former Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle at the famous Trident Hotel in Hyderabad, India, this past weekend. Zoalize impressed the judges with her striking gown, which was designed by talented fashion designer Juan William Aria.
The dress, which helped her win the regional award, was made from satin glass fabric and featured detailed hand-embroidered patterns. The highlight of the gown was a beautiful protea at its centre – South Africa’s national flower. This powerful symbol was carefully chosen to represent the country’s spirit of unity, strength, and cultural diversity.
The Miss World Organisation celebrated Zoalize’s win on Instagram with the following message: “Congratulations to Zoalize Jansen van Rensburg, Miss World South Africa, winner of the World Designer Award — Africa.”
Zoalize herself shared her gratitude and appreciation for the designer behind the award-winning gown, saying: “The gown is a celebration of who we are as a people — diverse, rooted, and proud.”
Speaking about her overall experience as a Miss World 2025 contestant, Zoalize described her journey as nothing short of life-changing. “What I can say is this has been an adventure of a lifetime,” she wrote. “I got to share the story of all the wonderful friends and family of my project, Never too Young to Advocate… I have felt empowered and supported every step of the way.”
The grand finale of Miss World 2025 is scheduled to take place on 31 May at the HITEX Exhibition Centre in Hyderabad. With this win, Zoalize has not only showcased her elegance and style but has also proven herself as a strong contender heading into the final stages of the competition.
