Speaking on her TikTok, Kelly said she is tired of men who act like fathers only on social media, but don’t actually raise or care for their kids in real life. She said, “Fathers are celebrating the fruits of being fathers, not social media dads who are social media sperm donors, who are only fathers on social media.”
She criticised fathers who blame the child’s mother for keeping them away, yet they haven’t even tried to go to court or make a real effort to be present. “There is no trace of their existence in their children’s lives and their excuse is ‘the mother of my children doesn’t want me to see the children.’”
Kelly made it clear that if a man has been absent for many years, he can no longer call himself a father. “If you haven’t been in the child’s life for many years you are no longer the father of the child, even if you decide to resurface and take responsibility. You are going to be the uncle. My husband and I will father and mother our children. You will be the uncle.”
According to TshisaLIVE, rapper Jub Jub is the father of Kelly Khumalo’s son, Christian. Kelly has openly said she doesn’t want to co-parent with him. In past interviews, she made it clear that she won’t allow Jub Jub to be involved in Christian’s life until he turns 18.
“I don’t know what he is like now and I don’t wish to know but based on what I know about him, I want to protect my son from that person. The man I know is not deserving of raising my son. I’m sure he has changed, but for himself, not for me,” she added.
In her interview on Behind the Story, Kelly added, “I’m happy with my son hating me later, I’m totally happy with that. I’m raising an honourable man the best way I know how and what I have experienced at the hands of that person is enough for me to close the door completely.”
On her reality show Life With Kelly Khumalo season 3, she stood by her decision: “I know a man who wants a relationship with his child when I see one. I will never stand in the way of that. Don’t disrespect me.”
