Watch! Livid Zikhona Sodlaka Calls Out The Government For Not Paying Mam’Nomhle Nkonyeni! When veteran actress Nomhle Nkonyeni passed on last week, social applauded the SA government for honoring her whilst she was still alive.
Mam’Nomhle had a street named after her in her hometown in the Eastern Cape. Earlier this year, Nkonyeni received the Order of Ikhamanga, which recognizes South Africans who have excelled in the fields of arts, culture, literature, music, journalism and sport.
But fellow artists are not happy that that’s all the veteran actress got from the government. Actress Zikhona Sodlaka didn’t mince her words at Mam’Nomhle’s memorial at the Market Theatre speaking about how the deceased had not been paid.
Zikhona’s speech was shared on social media and people were shocked to learn about the lack of support for artists from the government and sports and culture ministry. Watch below.
