South African Amapiano star Thatohatsi Raphadi has expressed heartfelt gratitude to her fans after receiving an outpouring of love and support following body-shaming comments made about her on the Piano Pulse podcast.

A few days ago, the rising artist left many fans emotional when she shared a vulnerable response to remarks that quickly spread online. A clip from the podcast began circulating on social media, pushing Thatohatsi’s name to the top of trending lists and sparking strong reactions from the public.

During the podcast discussion, music executive Nota Baloyi made a blunt comment, saying: “Thatohatsi’s body does not look amazing.” The statement led to further remarks, with one of the hosts, Sifiso, adding that even if Thatohatsi ate junk food every day, she would not gain weight because her body is naturally slim.

Following the backlash, Thatohatsi took to TikTok and shared an emotional video where she appeared visibly hurt and overwhelmed. The comments from the podcast played in the background, while a message on the screen read: “If they knew how long it took for I to love me and live looking like this.” The video touched many viewers and opened up a wider conversation about body image, bullying and the impact of careless words.

Social media users, especially on X, were quick to defend the Amapiano star and condemn the podcast. Many fans praised Thatohatsi for her talent, confidence and courage, while others called for more sensitivity when speaking about artists and their bodies.

After seeing the overwhelming support, Thatohatsi shared a heartfelt message on her Instagram story, thanking those who stood by her. She wrote: “I would love to thank each and everyone who has been so supportive to me. I read your messages, comments and videos that were made to uplift me, ngyabonga ngok’khulu ukuy Thoba.”

She added that the love she received gave her strength to return to herself, saying: “Without God and you guys I don’t think I would’ve gained so much strength to come back and be myself again.”

Ending her message with gratitude and forgiveness, Thatohatsi reminded fans that love and kindness still matter, both in South Africa and beyond.
