Marcia “Cia” Morata has officially left the Big Brother Mzansi: Bazozwa house, becoming the first housemate to exit the show since season 6 launched on Sunday, 11 January 2026. Her sudden departure has left viewers shocked and concerned, with many sending messages of love and support.
On Thursday, Cia appeared emotionally overwhelmed and was seen crying inside the house. According to the show, the situation became more serious on Friday morning after a scheduled yoga session. Cia shared that she was not feeling well and decided to approach Big Brother to ask for help.
She was immediately assisted and later met with the on-site psychologist for a professional assessment. After careful evaluation, a decision was made in the best interest of her wellbeing that she should leave the Big Brother Mzansi house.
The show confirmed that Cia will continue to receive the support she needs following her exit from the competition. In an official statement shared on social media, Big Brother Mzansi explained the situation clearly and respectfully.
The show wrote in the caption, “In the interest of her wellbeing, Cia is the first housemate to depart the show since season 6 launched.”
MultiChoice Group, a CANAL+ company, together with the producers of Big Brother Mzansi, also shared their commitment to the health and wellbeing of all housemates. They wished Cia well in her future endeavours and reassured viewers that contestant care remains a top priority.
Shortly after the announcement, a statement was shared on Cia’s Instagram page by her family, offering clarity on her condition and addressing speculation surrounding her exit.
The statement read: “It is with great concern that we announce that our beloved daughter, Cia (Marcia Mmakwena Morata), has been hospitalized. We want to set the record straight that Cia did not voluntarily exit the Big Brother Mzansi show. She bravely battled social anxiety, and unfortunately, it became too much to overcome.”
The family went on to celebrate Cia’s strength and courage, describing her as a determined young woman from Bochum, born and raised in Mamelodi. They highlighted her passion for life and her determination to challenge the stigma surrounding mental health.
“For those who knew Cia, you’ll recall her dream to enter the Big Brother house, and she made it happen. Though her journey was cut short, her legacy will live on,” the statement continued.
The Morata family also asked the public for privacy during this difficult time, thanking supporters for their understanding and kindness.
Many fans continue to rally behind her, wishing her healing and strength as she focuses on recovery beyond the Big Brother house.
