Basadi in Music Awards Announces Exciting Line-Up of Performers for 2026 Ceremony

The Basadi in Music Awards is getting ready to celebrate five years of honouring women in music and entertainment, and the upcoming ceremony is set to be a memorable one with an exciting line-up of performers.

The awards have officially announced the artists who will take the stage during the highly anticipated 2026 ceremony. The 5th annual Basadi in Music Awards will take place over two nights on August 7 and August 8, 2026, at the Joburg Theatre in Johannesburg.

The two-night celebration will see the Vanguard Circle Awards take place on the first night, while the Main Awards will be held on the second night.

The named performing artists include Nothando Nhlapo, Nia Pearl, Mawhoo, Thatohatsi, Makhadzi, Kelly Khumalo and Monique Bingham. The talented stars will perform on Saturday, 8 August 2026, with the show scheduled to start at 20:00.

This year’s theme is “Rewind the Rise,” which promises to take guests on a celebration of the incredible journey and achievements of women in the entertainment industry.

The Basadi in Music Awards shared an exciting introduction for Nothando Hlophe, writing, “Can we take it to church?? Some songs become prayers. Nia Pearl is also set to bring her soulful sound to the stage. The awards introduced her by saying, “Known for her velvety vocals, heartfelt storytelling, and unforgettable stage presence, Nia Pearl has become one of the most celebrated voices in Afro-house and soulful music.

Queen Makhadzi is also expected to bring her well-known energy to the celebration. Meanwhile, Kelly Khumalo is also ready to make her mark on the special night. The awards said, “Whether it reminds you of love, heartbreak, healing or triumph, Kelly Khumalo’s music has become part of so many unforgettable moments.
