South African singer and dancer Makhadzi has shared an update on her health and recovery following a car accident that took place at the end of last year. The award-winning artist took to her Facebook page to inform fans about her condition and to thank them for the continued love and support she has received during this difficult time.

In a statement shared on her page, Makhadzi confirmed that she is still recovering at home. The statement read: “Makhadzi Entertainment confirms that as of Saturday 17 January 2026, Makhadzi is still recovering at home after an accident which took place on 31 December 2025. Makhadzi went for a check up yesterday (Friday 16 January 2026) in Polokwane and the doctors are happy with her recovery process. We can also confirm that a case was opened in Mokopane on the 31st of December 2025 and yesterday she managed to give her statement.”

The statement also made it clear that the singer is not yet ready to return to work. “Makhadzi remains unavailable for bookings as she continues with her journey to recovery,” the statement added. Her team also expressed gratitude to her supporters, saying, “We would like to thank and appreciate all the messages of support from her fans and we are committed to give an update on her recovery journey.”

Makhadzi was involved in a car accident on 31 December 2025. Since then, she has been open about her healing process, sharing moments that show both her physical pain and emotional strength. Her honesty has touched many fans, who continue to send her encouraging messages.

On 7 January 2026, the singer shared a video on her social media pages showing herself during a physiotherapy session. In the video, bandages were clearly visible, showing the extent of her injuries. Despite the pain, Makhadzi appeared focused, hopeful and determined to heal. What moved fans even more was that she paired the video with an original song she recorded after the accident.

In the song, Makhadzi sings about how she has been feeling since the incident, using music to express her emotions. In the caption, she opened up about a lonely moment during her recovery. She wrote, “My physio started attending me yesterday … after the session I was lonely, I decided to record myself this song .. I got the beats from the guy I don’t know, I think he sent me this beat longtime ago and I didn’t see it. I just found it on my search .. But I am coming back l am healing.”

The post showed not only her physical recovery but also how she is using music to cope emotionally. Even while healing, Makhadzi continues to create, proving her strong passion for music.

She later reassured fans that her return is not far. She wrote, “Coming back strong soon … Few weeks left… I recorded this song last night … I was feeling lonely… keep sending me beats… I will be working on them.”
