South African actress Stephanie Ndlovu recently opened up about deep life lessons, her faith, and the power of starting over during an emotional interview on the Wisdom & Wellness with Mpoomy Ledwaba podcast.
Stephanie, who is known for her role on Scandal!, reflected on how her upbringing and the wisdom passed down from her late father continue to shape the way she lives and deals with challenges. She spoke honestly about how she finds strength in difficult times and how she’s learned to let go and begin again.
When Mpoomy Ledwaba asked her about the greatest lesson her father left her with, Stephanie shared a piece of advice that has stayed close to her heart.
“Probably, no matter how bad a situation seems, no matter how far gone you might think you are, if you need to start over, you can. And you are not starting over from nothing, you are starting over from experiences, you are starting over from lessons,” Stephanie said.
She explained that people often think they’re going back to square one when things fall apart, but that’s not true. Starting over is still progress — it’s just from a different point of view, with more wisdom and strength.
“You can decide at any point in time to start over and do the thing that you’ve been wanting to do, or you did and failed at, and now you want to try it again. Because when you try it again, you are trying it from a different advantage point,” she added.
Stephanie also opened up about what keeps her grounded during hard times. She said her strong faith in God helps her stay calm and trust that things will eventually work out, even when life doesn’t make sense.
“My faith in God and that despite what it looks like, He is working things out for my good. That it might not seem good right now, but it grounds me in the surety that He is good,” she said.
This heartfelt conversation comes just weeks after Stephanie and her husband, fellow actor Hungani Ndlovu, confirmed their separation after six years of marriage. The couple had been surrounded by rumours, which they finally addressed with a joint statement.
