Sonia Mbele On How Her Ex Husband Made Her Quit Generations

Phat Joe’s new show Cheeky Palate has brought quite an interesting amount of celebrity juice as they dish their most exclusive secrets about their careers and their person lives.

One person who had us shook with by her revelation is powerhouse actress and businesswoman Sonia Mbele. Mbele who was previously was married to bigtime lawyer Leslie Sedibe was a guest on the latest episode of Cheeky Palate and she shared that her husband wasn’t a big fan of her acting career. According to Sonia she was made to quite her role as ‘Ntombi’ on Generations by her now former husband.

Apparently things weren’t well and dandy at the Sedibe house because Leslie wasn’t a fan of Sonia’s onscreen character who was entangled to Menzi Ngubane’s character, Siusiso Dlhlomo also known as Ngamla.

The onscreen romance clearly got a bit too real for Leslie that he forbid her from even watching herself on the television and eventually got her to quit the show. Things escalated to the point where Sonia’s mother had to intervene and call a family meeting because of his controlling ways.

Sonia made it clear that all the rumours of her marrying Leslie for money were false because Sedibe earned a salary at the end of the month just like she did.

“I don’t want to e accused for marrying for money, because I didn’t , I married for love” Sonia said.

Although things ended on a sour note, Sonia has been divorced for seven years now and she is doing very well considering that she can do whatever she pleases.
