Somizi Receives Backlash For Introducing His Fanbase To An Alleged Fake Billionaire Businessman. Getting some of the most popular celebrities to advertise products on their social media is a tactic that works in favour of the company, but fans are not about to support a business that has a very dodgy public past even if it is advertised by one of Mzansi’s most loved celebrity.
Reports have revealed that Somizi Mhlongo has been working with electric vehicle company, Agilitee, including hosting live Instagram streams with the company’s founder Mandla Lamba.
Somizi’s fans have done their homework and now Mhlongo has found himself in the middle of a hectic storm, that he might not get out of unscathed this time. Somizi was at the top of the twitter trends after he alongside Pearl Thusi were involved with a company named Agilitee, which is linked to well known scammer Mandla Lamba who once made headlines for faking his billionaire status.
Mandla Lamba is the owner of the electric vehicle and green tech company Agilitee which was recently launched. The company has been working with popular celebrities including Khanya Mkhangisa for influencer marketing to promote the company with live sessions. Agilitee held its first event in Johannesburg in the month of May where the Idols SA judge was tapped as one of the MC’s for the event.
It not only ends there as reports have revealed that Somizi would be entering into a deal with Agilitee that would see him owning his own dealership for the electric vehicles. Twitter with its very talented investigative team have cracked another case by uncovering Mr Lamba’s questionable past which includes his alleged involvement in selling unregistered funeral policies as well as his previous arrest on charges of theft and culpable homicide.
Red flags about Agilitee including the share price as laid out on Instagram by Somizi, the proposed return on investment and potential investors having to send their proof of payment via WhatsApp. Speaking to Fin24, the media mogul admitted that he does not do thorough background checks on the companies that book him for influencer gig Somizi has acknowledge Lamba’s shady past, claiming that “everyone deserves a second chance.”
