Somizi expressed his surprise and disappointment at himself, saying: “A simple ‘Hello’ does not take R5 out of your pocket. Manners, please.”

It was clear that the driver didn’t care about Somizi’s celebrity status. The driver’s stern reaction left the former Idols SA judge feeling embarrassed, and he admitted he deserved it. Somizi wrote on social media:

“Tjo guys l’ve just been humbled by the Uber driver and I deserved it lol. Coz I mean where are my manners. I just texted my unit number without greeting (which is so not like me) then he cancelled. I love him already. He deserves a tip and 10 stars. If ur the driver pls hit me up I owe u anything lol.”

Fans and followers quickly admired Somizi for being honest and taking accountability. Media personality Dineo Moloisane shared words of support, reminding him not to be too harsh on himself:

“We really get carried away. Don’t be harsh on yourself, Miziiii, you know yourself and your heart. It happened to be that day for you, shem. Hadeeee.”

Another fan, oleratosempe, praised Somizi’s self-awareness:

“Self-awareness and accountability are everything. As someone who’s very big on greeting, I truly love you even more for this!”

The humorous encounter not only highlighted the importance of manners but also showed a different side of Somizi—a side that is humble, relatable, and willing to admit mistakes. Even celebrities aren’t immune to everyday life lessons, and Somizi’s story proves that everyone can learn something from a simple act of politeness.
