South African beauty queen, author, and mental health advocate Shudufhadzo “Shudu” Musida continues to inspire the world with her powerful voice for change. The former Miss South Africa attended the One Young World Summit held in Munich, Germany, from 3 to 6 November 2025, joining thousands of young leaders dedicated to solving global challenges.
Shudu, who has become a strong voice for mental health and women’s empowerment, shared her joy and gratitude for being part of this global platform once again. On social media, she wrote,
“Back at @oneyoungworld and my heart is so full. It has been three years since I first joined this incredible movement and every time I return, I am reminded why. Because here, you meet people who make you believe that change is not only possible but already happening.”
She described the experience as deeply meaningful and inspiring, reflecting on the importance of connecting with young people who are committed to making a difference.
“This week has been such a full circle moment. From engaging in mentoring sessions and connecting with brilliant young changemakers to sharing space with visionary leaders from around the world,” she shared.
Among the highlights for Shudu was listening to thought-provoking messages from world leaders. She mentioned being especially moved by Queen Rania of Jordan’s words: “If we want the world to change, we must first believe that change is possible.”
She also resonated with Judith Wiese’s reminder that, “Leadership is a choice. For Shudu, these lessons reflect the importance of taking responsibility and courage in shaping the future.
“Now more than ever, we need to step into that choice and shape the future we want to see,” she said.
Standing on the global stage once more, Shudu expressed her deep sense of purpose and hope. “As I stand on this stage once again, I am humbled to learn, to listen, and to witness how so many have turned their stories of survival into stories of purpose. They are ensuring that those who come after them will always have a seat at the table.”
She ended her message with a powerful call for unity and compassion:
“Here’s to building a world defined by love, respect, and an unwavering belief in the power of young people, especially young women, to lead us forward.”
