Shauwn Mkhize Clears Her Name Over Fake Accounts

South African businesswoman and reality TV star Shauwn Mkhize has publicly addressed fake social media accounts using her name and image online. The media personality released a statement on Instagram distancing herself from a Facebook account and posts that have been circulating on social media.

Known for being vocal and active on social media, Shauwn made it clear that the Facebook account in question has no connection to her despite appearing to be verified. The reality TV star said she was concerned about the misleading information being shared from the account and wanted the public to know that the posts do not represent her views or beliefs.

In her statement, she wrote, “I would like to categorically distance myself from the fake Facebook account and post currently circulating under my name. Although the account appears to be verified, it is neither managed, authorised nor affiliated with me in any way. We are currently investigating how the account obtained verification.”

Shauwn also addressed the political statements allegedly shared on the account. She firmly denied being linked to any political party or political movement and explained that her focus remains on business.

“The statements being shared from that page are false and do not reflect my views, values or position. I am not affiliated with any political party, political movement or political commentary associated with that account. I chose to be a businesswoman, not a politician, and I intend to remain that way,” she added.

The businesswoman further revealed that steps are already being taken to deal with the unauthorised use of her identity online. She urged her supporters and the public to avoid spreading misinformation and instead rely only on her verified and official social media platforms for accurate communication.

“The necessary steps are being taken regarding the unauthorised use of my name and image. I urge the public to refrain from spreading misinformation and to rely solely on my official platforms for authentic communication,” she concluded.
