South African radio host and reality TV star Dineo Ranaka has shared her strong reaction to comments made on Podcast and Chill with MacG while Elizabeth ‘Tsontso’ Moselakgomo was still missing.
The comments made during the episode sparked criticism from listeners and social media users, who questioned the decision to make jokes while discussing an ongoing missing-person case.
Tsontso was later found in Kempton Park, with her family identifying her body on 14 September 2026.
During the episode, the hosts discussed Tsontso’s disappearance and the circumstances surrounding her case. Some of the banter during the discussion was criticised as insensitive, with one comment referencing Tsontso’s running routine. Sol Phenduka also made a pun involving the race number she was wearing.
Following the backlash, Sol publicly apologised to South Africans, Chillers and Tsontso’s family.
“I want to profusely apologise to South Africans, to Chillers and to the family. Deriving a joke be it targeted at somebody else about a situation around a missing person is distasteful because it is a traumatic situation especially in the context of South Africa and the unfortunate high femicide we have.”
Despite the apology, Dineo Ranaka made it clear that she was still unhappy with the comments.
The media personality took to Instagram to directly address Sol Phenduka and MacG, expressing her anger over how the situation was discussed.
Dineo wrote:
“©solphenduka ©macgunleashed come this side and hear what you

Dineo’s comments have made it clear that she remains deeply unhappy with how the situation was handled, despite Sol Phenduka issuing a public apology following the backlash.
