SA Celebs Who Recently Publicly Gave Their Lives To God. In an age where people especially in Africa are often ridiculed for their belief in God, it’s refreshing to see unapologetic, unashamed and public figured declare and give their lives to Christ.
Over the past few years we’ve witnessed celebs like media personalities Zizo Tshwete and Rorisang Thandekiso not only publicly declare their faith but use their respective platforms to share it with their followers. Rorisang recently made headlines after sharing her faith stating, “I have never ever spoken to an ancestor, I will never ever speak to an ancestor. My reference for me is biblical. I have never visited, sought counsel from an ancestor and I will never do it. My experience with Christ is enough.”
Whilst her public declaration had critics mocking her and calling her names, it evidently did not discourage other public figures to do the same. Over the past week alone, two celebs, Candice Modiselle and Ntobeko Sishi got baptized and shared their experiences on social media.
Media personality Candice Modiselle shared her baptism story and video saying, “On the 28th of May, I became a NEW CREATION IN CHRIST. For context, I was baptised as a baby, far too young to understand the magnitude of this moment. I imagine many of us can relate. Now that I am older and wiser, I have decided: To not be casual about the things of The Kingdom. There is an urgency for revival in our nation and we cannot afford to not submit to the King of Kings. This public declaration confirms that I KNOW WHO I AM and I dedicate my life to helping young people discover that they too are fearfully and wonderfully made, set apart, loved, called and chosen as the righteous sons and daughters of the Almighty. I also long to help us all navigate our way through the hopelessness and brokenness that our nation is plagued with. I have decided to partner with Christ in all things. Every milestone through Him, in Him and for His glory.”
“Today I publicly declared my life to ‘The Lord The Lord, the Compassionate and Gracious God.’ I once feared Him as a merciless fascist, so guilty, ashamed and insecure in myself that I thought I’d never be enough to stand in His presence, or to even allow myself to live. It’s great to know that even though those feelings are valid, it is in my very weakness that Christ reaches out and His power is made perfect. I tried self-esteem, tried therapy, and even though those things have a place, nothing really gave me belonging. Only through His sacrifice am I enough, more than good enough,” actor and singer Sishii shared.
