Zee Nxumalo to Host Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2025 Pre-Show

Rising Amapiano star Zee Nxumalo is making major moves in the entertainment world as she takes on the role of official host of the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards (KCA) 2025 Pre-Show.

The pre-show, which is proudly brought to you by Nedbank, will air on NickToons (DStv channel 305) on 25 June. It will lead directly into the main event, which will be hosted by global music sensation Tyla.

At just 22 years old, Zee is known for her bubbly personality and rising fame in South Africa’s music scene. She recently made waves with her Amapiano remix of the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song, which fans are loving. The song adds a fresh, local twist to the iconic cartoon tune and is expected to be a highlight of the show.

“I’m so honoured to be part of the KCAs this year. Hosting the pre-show and reimagining the SpongeBob theme song in Amapiano has been such a fun experience. I can’t wait for everyone to see what we’ve got in store!” said Zee, who is also known for her hit song Ngisakuthanda.

Zee’s role in the Kids’ Choice Awards is part of a bigger effort by Nickelodeon Africa and Nedbank to celebrate African youth, support local talent, and create fun, creative content for kids across the continent.

According to Daily Sun, Monde Twala, senior vice president and general manager at Paramount Africa, said: “We are proud to spotlight incredible African talent like Zee Nxumalo and Tyla on a global stage. The Kids’ Choice Awards is a celebration of youth empowerment, creativity, and fun, and this year’s show will be a vibrant reflection of that spirit.”

Nedbank, the event’s main sponsor, is using this opportunity to connect with the youth in a meaningful way.
