Media personality and veteran broadcaster Penny Lebyane is excited to be back on SABC2 as she steps into a brand-new chapter of her television career. The well-known presenter has been announced as the host of the new show, Eintlek Let’s Connect, which is set to premiere on 9 February.
The live show will air from Monday to Friday and will see Penny co-hosting alongside Fran-Rico Lucas. The programme promises to bring fresh, honest and relatable conversations to South African screens, focusing on everyday people and real-life experiences.
Speaking about her return to the channel, Penny shared how meaningful this moment is for her after many years in the media industry.
“To be back on SABC2 with a daily platform like Eintlek Let’s Connect is everything I’ve worked toward in the last 25 years in the media industry.
It’s more than a show; it is a space for real talk, real people and real connection.
“After the last few years l’ve had, this isn’t just a job, it’s a fresh start and a chance to build something meaningful with South Africa every single day. It’s a homecoming,” she said according to Daily Sun.
Her co-host, Fran-Rico Lucas, also expressed his excitement and described the show as a full-circle moment in his own career. He reflected on his journey in television and how special it feels to return to the screen in such a meaningful way.
“Coming back to television feels like a full circle moment. From 50/50 to now being part of Eintlek Lets Connect, alongside Penny Lebyane, it feels like returning home. Television has always been a dream, one I have carried since childhood, and seeing that dream unfold on SABC2 is incredibly special,” he said.
Fran-Rico added that the heart of the show is rooted in authenticity and true South African stories. He explained that viewers can expect content that reflects real lives, cultures and shared experiences.
“Viewers can expect a show that is vibrant and deeply rooted with South African nuances. Eintlek Lets Connect creates space for honest conversations, shared experiences and moments that reflect who we are as people. The show also gives me the opportunity to celebrate shared meals and simple moments, from everyday dinners in the kitchen to round table conversations that bring people together.
“We will be cooking in people’s homes, visiting different spaces and experiencing everything from a family kitchen to a local restaurant. It’s about staying in touch with what people care about, what they need to know and what they would love to taste,” he said.
With its focus on connection, food, conversation and real stories, Eintlek Let’s Connect is set to become a warm and welcoming space for viewers. Penny Lebyane’s return, alongside Fran-Rico Lucas, signals a refreshing new era for SABC2’s daytime television.
