Murdah Bongz Celebrates Daughter Asante’s Fifth Birthday

South African DJ and music producer Murdah Bongz is celebrating a special milestone as his daughter, Asante, turns five years old.

The proud father took to Instagram to mark the occasion with a beautiful montage filled with pictures and precious moments shared with his daughter. The post offered fans a glimpse into the special bond between Murdah Bongz and Asante as he reflected on how fatherhood has shaped him.

Alongside the heartfelt montage, Murdah Bongz wrote: “Happy Birthday to a little soul who make me softer and stronger all at once.”

The birthday celebrations appeared to be filled with plenty of colour and joy. The family decorated the celebration with beautiful pink balloons and butterflies, with the words “Happy Birthday Asante” displayed as part of the decorations.

Murdah Bongz also shared moments from the celebration on his Instagram Story. In one of the beautiful family moments, DJ Zinhle and Murdah Bongz could be seen singing happy birthday to Asante as she celebrated with a colourful birthday cake.

Asante is the daughter of Murdah Bongz and his wife, DJ Zinhle. Born in 2021, she has frequently featured in special family moments shared by her parents.

Her birthday comes as Murdah Bongz continues to build on a deeply personal chapter in his music career. The musician released his latest project, Asante IV, on 31 July 2026. The album is the newest chapter in his popular solo album series.

While promoting the project on Instagram, Murdah Bongz wrote: “Asante IV The sound track to life…..”

The Asante music series holds a particularly personal meaning for the musician. Named after his daughter, the albums reflect his journey as a father, his personal growth and the different experiences that have shaped him. His sound combines Afro-house with soulful elements that connect with everyday life.

Murdah Bongz and Bongani “Murdah Bongz” Mohosana and DJ Zinhle have been married for a little over four years. They tied the knot in a private traditional ceremony, known as lobola, in March 2022, before publicly confirming their marriage in August of the same year.

Together, they are raising Asante Mohosana, while DJ Zinhle is also the mother of Kairo Owethu Forbes, who was born in 2015. Kairo is her daughter with the late South African rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes.
