MaWhoo Drops Soulful New Album Amazwi Okubonga

South African singer MaWhoo has just released her highly anticipated new album titled Amazwi Okubonga. This exciting new project follows the success of her hit single Bengicela, which recently made waves across the world by reaching over 45 million streams on all major digital streaming platforms (DSPs).

Amazwi Okubonga is a rich and heartfelt album that showcases MaWhoo’s growth as an artist and her deep passion for music. Speaking about the project on Instagram, MaWhoo shared her deep emotional connection to the album, writing:

“This project is my labour of love. I’m grateful to God, and to all the people who’ve supported my music throughout the years. This is my gift to you. May the music nurture, inspire and heal you like it did with me during the making of it. Ngiyabonga to wonke umntu engisebenze naye kule EP.”

She also expressed her excitement for one of the songs on the album, Umona, featuring DJ Veek, Criimora b.K.Z, ChildDaDJ, and Sykes. Sharing a snippet of the track online, she said:

“‘Umona’ with DJ Veek, Criimora b.K.Z, ChildDaDJ & Sykes from my forthcoming project, Amazwi Okubonga. Guys I love this song I hope nani nizoythanda (you will love it too).”

Just a few days before releasing the album, MaWhoo celebrated the success of Bengicela on social media, sharing: “‘Bengicela’ has done 45 million global streams across all major DSPs.”

She added a personal reflection: “When I wrote this song, I asked God for more open doors, and it has gone on to achieve so much in such a short space of time. Mark 11:24.”
