The race to become Top Billing’s newest presenter is heating up as the 2026 presenter search has officially narrowed down its contestants to five finalists.
In the episode that aired on 8 October, the competition saw the original top 10 contestants reduced to five, bringing the remaining contenders one step closer to their dream of joining the iconic South African lifestyle television show.
Following the latest episode, the official Top Billing Instagram page congratulated the finalists and shared video commentary from each contestant. The videos gave the remaining hopefuls an opportunity to explain why they believe they have what it takes to become the show’s newest presenter.
Meet the top five finalists of the Top Billing Presenter Search 2026: Nehemiah Tjatji, Ross Marshall, Karen Mthethwa, Homba Mazaleni and Talitha Bothma.
Each finalist brings a unique personality, background and presenting style to the competition, with all five sharing their reasons for why they would be the perfect fit for Top Billing.
TV and radio host Nehemiah Tjatji believes his energy and ability to connect with viewers set him apart from the competition.
“Why should I be part of the top five is very simple, if not my energy, then really my ability to come into a space and make you, as a viewer at home, feel like you are a part of it and find a personal experience,” he explains.
Actor Ross Marshall highlighted his love for people, adventure and learning as some of the qualities that make him a suitable candidate.
“I think i should be the next Top Billing presenter because I love people, I love going on adventures, I love going on journeys, I love learning and asking questions,” he explained.
Radio host Karen Mthethwa also shared what she would bring to the popular television show, describing herself as an energetic young woman passionate about broadcasting.
“I am a young girl from Soweto with a whole lot of energy and spunk and a person who just loves love and is devoted to broadcasting in South Africa,” she said.
Meanwhile, Miss SA 2023 Top 5 finalist Homba Mazaleni believes her lively personality and ability to connect with people would make her a memorable addition to the presenting team.
“First and foremost, I think I’m a little bit tun; I think l bring a little bit of exciting energy to all the things that I do and I also love people and live having a conversation. I’m not afraid to get a little silly on camera,” she shared.
MC Talitha Bothma emphasised the importance of teamwork and bringing out the best in the people she interviews.
“I’m here to win as a team its not about me. I understand that being a presenter is about unravelling the person I get to have a discussion with. I have an ability to ignite that childlike heart within the people I speak to and help their story come to live,” she noted.
With five contestants remaining, the competition is entering an exciting stage as each finalist works towards securing a place as Top Billing’s newest presenter. Their different personalities, experiences and approaches to storytelling have given viewers a glimpse of what they could bring to the beloved television show.
