Manaka Ranaka Honours Late Daughter Katlego with Tombstone Unveiling

Generations: The Legacy actress Manaka Ranaka has once again touched the hearts of many after paying tribute to her late daughter, Katlego Ranaka, in a deeply emotional post. The actress honoured Katlego’s memory during the unveiling of her tombstone, an event filled with both sorrow and love.

Taking to social media, Manaka expressed her gratitude to those who stood by her family since their loss. She wrote, “Friends, family, and colleagues who traveled from near and far, we are truly grateful to you all. From the beginning of our loss, through the funeral, and now the tombstone unveiling of our dearest Katlego — we thank you.”

Just a few days earlier, Manaka had shared a heartfelt message in memory of Katlego, who would have celebrated her 25th birthday on November 1st. The actress opened up about the pain of experiencing her daughter’s first birthday since her passing.

In her emotional post, she wrote, “Happy Birthday my beautiful Angel. Today you would’ve turned 25. Our first 1st of November without you. I write this with a huge lump in my throat and tears soaking my pillow knowing we will never see you again in the physical. That fact alone aches my heart. My chest tightens and my womb hurts just thinking about it.”

She went on to share how the day brought back vivid memories of Katlego’s birth. “I haven’t slept since yesterday, anticipating this day. The day I gave birth to you. Today, 25 years ago, is a day I will never forget. And you, my dear firstborn child, I will never forget you,” she added.

Despite the heartbreak, Manaka described the day as “bittersweet” as the family gathered to celebrate Katlego’s life while unveiling her tombstone. “Today is bittersweet as we unveil your stone and celebrate your birthday. A life worth celebrating,” she wrote.

Katlego, who was also a young mother, sadly passed away on 23 January 2025 at the age of 24.
