Actress Gugu Gumede has opened up about her incredible health journey, revealing her inspiring transformation two years after undergoing weight-loss surgery. The 33-year-old star, who is widely known for her roles in Uzalo, The Last Victims, and Umjolo: The Gone Girl, shared that she has lost an impressive 53 kilograms following a gastric sleeve procedure — a type of bariatric surgery designed to help with long-term weight loss.

Taking to Instagram, Gugu reflected on how far she has come since making the life-changing decision. She posted before-and-after photos, showing her dramatic transformation, and wrote, “This was Day 2 after my surgery; we are now nearly 2 years in, and it’s still the best decision I have ever made for my health.”

In a recent video, Gugu looked back at clips from her early recovery days and reflected on how far she’s come. “That was me, and now, nearly two years later and 53kg lighter, I can safely say that was the best decision I’ve ever made in my entire life,” she said proudly.
