Luyanda Zuma Joins South Africans in Unity at National Day of Prayer

Actress and Miss South Africa 1st runner-up Luyanda Zuma marked a meaningful moment as she attended the annual Motsepe Foundation National Day of Prayer on 30 November 2025. The event, held to bring South Africans together in faith and unity, saw leaders, celebrities, and communities gathering to pray for healing, hope, and the future of the country.

Luyanda proudly shared moments from the special day, which she described as deeply inspiring and purposeful. She expressed how important it was for her to support and uplift organisations that stand for change. She wrote, “During the National Day of Prayer, I wanted to highlight the power of showing up for one another, especially in support of organisations like @womenforchangesa. Embracing the Purple Movement and carrying it so boldly on my shoulders in this stunning @houseonala_africa piece made me feel both purposeful and regal. It was an honour to stand in unity as we joined the @motsepefoundation National Prayer Day alongside @official_misssa.”

For Luyanda, the day was not only about prayer but also about recognising the beauty of South Africa’s diversity. Her presence added to the significance of the event, and she was not the only member of the Miss South Africa family who attended. Miss South Africa 2025, Qhawekazi Mazaleni, also honoured the occasion with her presence. Qhawekazi reflected on how powerful the event felt, saying, “What a fulfilling day rooted in hope for our country. Attending the National Day of Prayer hosted by the Motsepe Foundation was a reminder of how unity drives change in our country. Gathering with different religious leaders, business leaders and communities reminded me that there is so much power in understanding our different backgrounds, honouring our journeys and finding connection in our humanity. Hope really does inspire action.”
