Lunga Mofokeng Joins Skeem Saam as New Teacher Qhomane

A new teacher arrives, and Turf will never be the same!

Skeem Saam ushers in 2026 with the arrival of a new character who is set to leave a lasting impression on Turf High School and its learners.

Played by Lunga Mofokeng, Qhomane, also known as Mr Q, arrives in Turf as a young, charming and effortlessly confident teacher joining the staff at Turf High School, making his debut on Monday, 9 February 2026.

On the surface, he is everything a school would hope for, sharp, articulate and inspiring. But as with many things in Turf, appearances can be deceiving.

“Qhomane is a fascinating character to step into. On the surface, he’s confident and composed, but there’s a lot happening beneath that. I’ve enjoyed exploring those layers and bringing someone like Mr Q into the world of Turf.” – explains Lunga.

Mr Q arrives in Turf with ease, confidence and a quiet authority that quickly sets him apart. As he finds his footing at Turf High, his presence begins to register in ways that are difficult to ignore. There is something about Mr Q that invites curiosity and raises questions leaving those around him wondering what his arrival truly means for the school and the community.

His arrival brings subtle shifts to familiar dynamics, prompting quiet adjustments within the school and beyond. As new interactions take shape, it becomes clear that his presence will not go unnoticed.

With layered storytelling and moments of tension woven throughout the year, Skeem Saam in 2026 promises to keep viewers engaged and watching closely as stories develop and intentions slowly reveal themselves.
