South African celebrity chef Lorna Maseko recently brought her culinary expertise to an international audience as a guest judge on the hit Food Network cooking show, Bobby’s Triple Threat. The episode, titled “Titans vs Martel Stone”, premiered on October 7th at 8 PM, and fans are already buzzing about her appearance.

Excited to share the experience, Lorna wrote on Instagram, “There’s never a dull moment when you’re in @bobbyflay’s kitchen… can’t wait for you to see this one! Catch me as a guest judge on Bobby’s Triple Threat – ‘Titans vs Martel Stone.’”

The show features Chef Martel Stone, known for his laid-back flair and West African-inspired flavours, going head-to-head with Chef Brooke W., taking on the Titans in a high-stakes cooking showdown. The competition challenges chefs with three high-pressure rounds and two surprise ingredients in each round, testing their creativity, speed, and skill. The winning chef walks away with a $25,000 (approximately R427,000) cash prize.

True to her love for celebrating African culture, Lorna also made a fashion statement during the shoot, wearing a stunning piece from South African brand Maxhosa Africa.

2025 has been a milestone year for Lorna. Earlier in January, she announced an exciting partnership with South African Airways (SAA), serving as Executive Chef for the airline’s in-flight menu. She shared the news on Instagram: “I’m so proud and excited to announce that I’ve partnered with our national carrier, @flysaa, to create a menu for this fiscal year! The dishes are deeply rooted in my culture and heritage as a proud Motswana from humble Alexandra, while also incorporating pan-African flavours that celebrate the beauty and diversity of our continent.”

From judging top chefs in Bobby Flay’s kitchen to designing menus for South African Airways, Lorna Maseko continues to show the world that African flavours, creativity, and culture are a force to be reckoned with. Her 2025 ventures prove that whether on screen or in the air, she is taking African cuisine to new heights.
