STUDIOCANAL has officially announced that filming has wrapped for Season 2 of Spinners, the South African extreme sports action drama that took audiences by storm. The studio also released first-look images from the upcoming season, set to premiere in 2026 on CANAL+ and MultiChoice platforms (Showmax and DStv).
The new season picks up two years after Ethan and his friends escaped the violent world of gang life. Now living in the big city, they’ve become spinning stars — adored for their daring stunts and charisma. Fame, love, and happiness finally seem within reach, but their success is short-lived.
“Until a brutal ambush, orchestrated by Ethan’s old gang, shatters their peace,” the synopsis teases. “Desperate, Ethan turns to the Maseko clan for help, but their protection comes at a heavy cost. Now caught between two rival crime families, can Ethan take the wheel and find his own road?”
The upcoming season promises to deliver even more thrills, danger, and emotional depth as Ethan’s journey takes unexpected turns. Viewers can expect the same blend of high-octane action and heartfelt storytelling that made the first season a hit.
The beloved original cast, including Cantona James as Ethan, will return, alongside the show’s creators and writers. Season 2 will also feature exciting new additions to the cast, including Clementine Mosimane (How to Ruin Christmas), Mondli Makhoba (Shaka iLembe), rising star Luyanda Zwane (Sibongile and the Dlaminis), and Aphiwe Mkefe (Nkuleko).
The first season of Spinners followed 17-year-old Ethan’s attempt to break free from the cycle of gang violence in Cape Town’s Southside through “spinning” — a uniquely South African motorsport where drivers perform adrenaline-fueled stunts. The series stood out for its authentic local storytelling, powerful performances, and cinematic flair.
With Spinners Season 2 now officially wrapped, fans can look forward to another fast-paced, emotional ride when the series returns in 2026.
