Lizelle Tabane Files Lawsuit Against Ex Fiancee Teko Modise After Claiming She Lied About GBV Allegations. Matters pertaining to couple based GBV can be rather tricky because the people involved might have two opposing story’s. That seems to be the case of former lovers Lizelle Tabane and soccer star Teko Modise. The soccer player recently sat down with MacG on his Podcast And Chill show where he spilt the tea on their failed relationship.
Teko was previously involved with model and socialite Lizelle Tabane in 2013 and the pair also got engaged in the same year. Things then took a drastic turn after it was reported that Teko demanded a refund on the lobola he paid for her.
The pair apparently had a toxic on and off relationship and Tabane has allegedly cheated on Modise a few time while they were living together. Shortly after their breakup shocking pictures of a bruised and bleeding Tabane, made headlines and it was alleged that Modise was responsible for the GBV act following their messy split.
In the interview, the soccer star alleged Tabane falsely accused him of abusing her during their relationship however and Lizelle used pictures from a previous relationship that she was allegedly abused in to frame him. The model and businesswoman has now responded to the claims made by her ex lover and she is not at all happy.
Taking to Instagram, Lizelle shared a letter of demand from her attorneys addressed to Teko on account of the false GBV comments made on the MacG podcast. According to the letter Modise lied about Lizelle falsely accusing him of the domestic incident that occurred at their home in 2014.
Lizelle is especially infuriated that at a time of GBV awareness, Modise would find it okay to lie about the traumatic incident. It also states that on the day of the incident, Tabane had to flee from the soccer player and lock herself in a bedroom where she called the police. When the authorities arrived, he was given favour because of the stature and name he holds in the football world.
The letter further details the injuries that Tabane sustained which include a swollen eye and chipped tooth. Apparently Teko is the one who drove Lizelle to the dentist the following day before she attended work. Modise was the one who also applied ice on Lizelle’s bruises after being advised by the doctor. Tabane allegedly lied to her employers when asked about the injury, claiming she was involved in a car accident. This was because Lizelle felt vulnerable and was dependant on her Teko for cash.
Since the interview, Lizelle has apparently been reminded of the abuse and has now had to seek counselling. Ideally she would have rather not entertained the issue but she has been advised to face the issue considering the potential harm it carries.
“It is with great regret I am now compelled to address the comments and/or statements made by Teko Modise during an interview on the MAcG podcast. Ideally I would have preferred not to entertain the issue, however I have been advised to address the issue considering the potential harm it carries. I have since engaged my attorney who then addressed a letter to Teko Modise highlighting the seriousness of the matter” she wrote.
Through her attorney’s Manala & CO Incorporated, Tabane has demanded that Teko retract his statement and issue an apology to her on the same podcast where the remarks were as well as other social media platforms. Lizelle is giving Teko until December 14th at 12:00PM then she will have to take the following legal steps to get justice.
