Reality star and radio presenter Lethabo Mathatho, known as Lejoy, is allegedly facing financial trouble after losing her 2012 red Land Rover Evoque to the bank. According to Daily Sun, the Real Housewives of Johannesburg star allegedly still owes R186,687.86 for the “shortfall” on the car.
Lethabo purchased the vehicle in 2017 through an instalment agreement. Court papers reveal that she agreed to pay R7,028.77 monthly for the first three months, followed by 70 instalments of R6,917.05. The final balloon payment of R90,043.40 was due in July 2023.
However, the agreement was canceled, and the car was repossessed and sold by the bank in June 2024. Despite this, the presenter allegedly remains responsible for the outstanding debt.
According to Daily Sun, inresponse, Lethabo denied owing the bank any money, stating, “I’m not sure what you are talking about because I don’t owe the bank, and my debt with the bank is 0. I will send you proof I’m not owing the bank.” However, she has yet to provide the promised proof.
