LaConco Pauses Her Podcast After Struggling to Find Guests

Media personality Nonkanyiso “LaConco” Conco has hit the pause button on her podcast, Timeline with LaConco. The announcement came directly from her during a recent Instagram Live, where she opened up about the challenges she’s faced behind the scenes.

LaConco, who is also known as the mother of former president Jacob Zuma’s child, explained that the podcast wasn’t created to make money, but rather to share real and meaningful stories. “The podcast’s purpose was never to generate revenue but to reveal the truth. However, because of the name, Timeline with LaConco,” she said.

According to Sunday World, in the beginning, LaConco planned to invite guests with powerful life stories. “I decided I couldn’t just sit on the couch and talk about myself on every episode, but I had to let others share their timelines too,” she said. However, this vision hit a roadblock when her guest list didn’t respond.

“I invited people whom I believed had brilliant stories and met a certain standard, but they didn’t respond. I don’t know if they didn’t want to come or if there was another reason, but until God redirects the purpose of the show, it’s on hold,” LaConco shared.

She made it clear that she doesn’t chase people for responses. “Unfortunately, I’m not the kind of person who begs or keeps reminding people. If you don’t respond to my invite, I take it as if you’ve declined,” she explained.

LaConco also admitted that she might not yet have a strong enough team to help secure the right guests. “For that reason, the podcast has been put on hold.”

Despite this pause, LaConco proudly mentioned that the first five episodes performed very well. She launched the podcast in early 2025, covering topics such as her personal journey, weight loss, career, and relationships.

Still, viewer numbers have dropped. The first episode, released on 28 February, reached over 514,000 views. But by her most recent episode on 16 May, views had dropped to just over 67,000.
