Amapiano star Kelvin Momo has apologised to his fans after missing three confirmed shows due to unexpected health problems. The DJ, whose real name is Thato Ledwaba, was expected to perform at Café 69, Piano Hub, and Makubenjalo, but had to cancel at the last minute.

On Monday, his management team released a statement explaining the situation and asking fans for understanding. “We want to extend our sincerest apologies for missing our scheduled performances at Cafe 69, Piano Hub, and Makubenjalo,” the statement read. “Due to unforeseen health issues, our artist, Kelvin Momo, fell ill, forcing us to cancel these highly anticipated gigs. We understand the excitement and anticipation surrounding these events and are deeply sorry for any disappointment this may have caused. The well-being of our team is paramount, and we had no choice but to prioritise Kelvin’s health and recovery.”

While fans were disappointed, many have sent messages of support, wishing the star a speedy recovery.

However, Kelvin Momo is not only dealing with health challenges. According to The Citizen, his production company is also facing legal troubles. Earlier this month, Sunday World reported that Australian promoter Ace Events had filed a liquidation application against Kelvin Momo Production at the Johannesburg High Court.

This came after the artist reportedly failed to honour performance agreements in Melbourne and Perth in November 2024. He was booked to perform 60-minute sets over two nights but did not show up. Ace Events now claims they are owed over R2.8 million in damages and refunds.

This is not the first time Kelvin Momo has been in hot water over a no-show. In April, he also pulled out of Zambia’s Piano Palooza festival, where he was one of the headline acts. He later said the cancellation was due to a scheduling clash with another performance in Limpopo.

Despite these setbacks, Kelvin Momo remains one of the most loved producers in the Amapiano scene. His supporters continue to show love and patience as he works through his challenges.
