It Just Got Weirder! Shell Just Donated R500k But NOT To The Hero Nkosikho Mbele! At this point it seems everyone is willing to give money in the name of Nkosinko’s name but noone is willing to give him the money to better his life.
First it was the crowdfunding company that had said they’d donate over R400k raised to causes that Nkosi chooses and now it’s the company he works for, Shell. Shell took to social media sharing a video of one of the bosses giving Nkosi a call to let him know that they’d be donating half a million Rand to charity in his name. It really be your own!
Sow what does Nkosi get? A nomination for the company’s Awards and a trip to Zanzibar to attend the Awards ceremony.

Twitter is not happy with everyone else benefiting but Nkosikho himself. Some of our local celebs also joined in on expressing their disappointment on how the situation is being handled.
*sigh* 😕😒😔 https://t.co/esvKGl7JhS

There’s something lowkey patronizing about how this whole thing is handled….I really hope I’m wrong….cause event @backabuddy is tripping over it’s statements…. I hope this gentleman is getting what is due to him, cc @Shell https://t.co/DiPbCBoilB

How do you use someone’s name to donate to charity when they don’t even have a decent home to live in? @Shell The disrespect. #NkosikhoMbele

Hi @Shell,
This is NOT IT!
You systemically underpay service station employees (such that most of them can't afford any of the very cars they tend to) & entrench inequality.
Using a staff member's act of kindness for YOUR PR (and thus profit) is shameful.
