Isibaya’s Asavela Mngqithi On Why She Dropped Out Of AFDA! She is one of the most loved actresses on the rise in Mzansi but Asavela’s journey has not been all smooth.

The actress covered the recent issue of The Bar Magazine where she opened up about dropping out of AFDA in her third year. Asavela shared how she didn’t know exactly what she wanted to do between film or television (camera and editing).

“Me dropping out of AFDA was obviously a financial problem. I couldn’t pay for my third year and I had to drop out in my last semester. Part of me was really angry because I felt like I had worked so hard even though I didn’t have a lot of things to help me get to the third year and I feel like it was unfair….but things happen,” she shared.

Asavela revealed that she decided to go for auditions and work in front of the camera since she had not finished her degree to work behind the camera. Initially she auditioned for a role on Isithembiso and was called back for a role on Isibaya instead.
