Season 34 of Generations: The Legacy is bringing big changes to the screen with four exciting new characters joining the show. The popular SABC1 soapie is getting ready to keep fans glued to their seats with fresh faces, gripping storylines, and powerful performances.
According to Sunday World, production company Morula Pictures has confirmed that Tinah Mnumzana, Nozuko Ntshangase, Phillip Tipo Tindisa, and Sannah Mchunu are joining the award-winning series. Each actor is bringing a unique and unforgettable character to life.
Tinah Mnumzana plays Ausi Nokwazi Lukhozi, a bold and street-smart hustler. She’s known for talking her way into — or out of — anything. Though her past is filled with reckless decisions, her confidence and charm remain strong.
“Joining Generations – The Legacy is a dream come true,” said Mnumzana. “The cast, including Manaka Ranaka, and the crew have embraced me warmly. It’s an honour to be part of such an iconic production.” Viewers will meet Nokwazi on June 30.
Nozuko Ntshangase steps into the role of Vuyelwa Numalo, a sharp and ambitious journalist with big dreams. Educated in top private schools, she wants to become the host of a global investigative TV show. But underneath her tough, professional side is a caring heart she doesn’t always show.
“I am thrilled to bring Vuyelwa to life on the biggest soapie in South Africa,” said Ntshangase. “The opportunity to join Generations is incredible, and I can’t wait for viewers to see her journey.” Vuyelwa arrives on July 9.
Phillip Tipo Tindisa takes on the role of Donald Brave, a tough man who’s been through a lot. After working illegally in the mines as a zama-zama, Donald is hardened and clever but still has a soft side. Although he’s skilled with weapons, he fears the violence he’s capable of.
“Being part of Generations: The Legacy is a privilege,” said Tindisa. “I’m excited to contribute to this iconic show and connect with its passionate audience.” Donald’s story begins on July 11.
Sannah Mchunu plays Sis’Phindi MaNxumalo, a kind woman with a heavy heart. On the surface, she is gentle and polite, but deep down she hides guilt and past pain. When pushed too far, her sharp side comes out. When I got the call, I was overjoyed,” Mchunu said. “Joining Generations is a blessing, and I’m grateful for this opportunity to shine.” Phindi makes her first appearance on July 23.
As these new characters enter the scene, fans will also welcome back Buntu Petse as Nontle Majola. But it won’t be all smiles — viewers will also have to say goodbye to Detective Pele Dali Malinga (Andile Nebulane) and Dr Siphesihle Cele (Pearl Noxolo Monama), who are leaving the show.
