According to The Citizen, the announcement was made during Youth Day celebrations at Zone 6 Venue in Soweto, where the actors shared the news with fans.

“So, we might be dropping a season three of Youngins,” Kea said with a smile. “We’ve been holding it in, hey. We couldn’t keep the secret anymore.”

Youngins, available on Showmax, is set in a fictional boarding school called Olifantsfontein High. The show explores real-life issues that South African teens face every day — from relationships and peer pressure to identity and family struggles. It’s been praised for being honest and relatable, especially to younger viewers.

Kea said working on the show changed her life. “The show tells real stories and brings authenticity to what teenagers and the younger generation go through. It’s had a huge impact on me because, finally, our stories are being told. We dive into what really happens in high school – it’s almost like educating both the older and younger generations.”

Toka also spoke about why the show has connected with so many people. “I get why adults enjoy Youngins — it gives them a nostalgic feel, almost like a modern-day Yizo Yizo. But for young people, it’s more than just entertainment. They see themselves in us — the good and the bad — and it becomes a learning experience.”

While the release date for Season 3 hasn’t been confirmed yet, fans can expect more drama, growth, and real-life lessons as the story continues.

For now, all eyes are on Showmax as viewers eagerly await the final chapter of Youngins.
