EFF President Julius Malema Defends Makhadzi‘s Choice To Support The ANC. Businesses have mastered the art of getting more attention to their products to up their sales which is by using influencers and celebrities to market things for them. Political parties have also caught on to the trend and have since been using celebrities to bate the public into voting for them.
The ANC has become the least favourite amongst the people due to its failure to govern the country and deliver on their promises. It appears that social media users are also calling out celebs who have any association with the African National Congress and have labelled them as traitors.
Makhadzi has become Mzansi’s “it” girl and has all the political parties chasing after her just in time for the elections. The Kokovha hitmaker seems to have made her choice in terms of which party she is supporting however, the masses believe she has made the wrong choice.
After posting a photo of herself wearing a dress associated with the ANC colours on the day of her dinner with president Cyril Ramaphosa, Makhadzi has been trending on twitter. The masses have critisized her for being an ally of the corrupt political party and are worried that this may taint her career.
EFF leader Julius Malema has spoken up against the critisism faced by the singer, reminding the public how it is everyone’s constitutional right to associate with which ever party they please.
“You don’t need to explain yourself to anyone my sister, your freedom of association is protected by our Constitution. It’s your choice and we should respect it” he wrote.
Ntando Duma was also dragged into the group chat on twitter about celebs who endorse political parties and the masses are confused as to why she is not getting dragged for supporting the EFF. It looks like may celebs have jumped ship from the ANC to the EFF as Zahara was also spotted at an EFF rally donning the colours of the party.
It seems like this politics thing can be quite tricky and one needs to be mindful of who they are supporting to avoid being cancelled.
